Well, here we are again, poised on the brink of a disaster, apparently, waiting for the calamity to take hold, apparently,

and wondering whether there will be enough toilet paper to keep everyone going until the weekend.

If you saw the state of some of the supermarket shelves over the course of the weekend, believe me,

this is one of the most ridiculous and pathetic reactions to something I think I've ever seen.

Indeed, it has been a weird few days in coronavirus land.

The Department of Health has now tested 23,513 people for the disease.

And guess how many of them have come back negative? About 23,240. Now, you don't need me to tell you that that's quite a big number of people who actually do not have coronavirus.

And despite this, there are more grave warnings about the end of days,

the entire world becoming infected, and the shutting down of all public events. Meanwhile,

despite Italy's shutting down and putting over 16 million people into quarantine, flights

from that country are still coming into UK airports. On Saturday, when I was at Gatwick,

waiting my daughter to arrive from Vienna. There were three flights in coming from Venice, Bologna and Milan in the same hour.
