Welcome to Court of Opinion. I'm Julia Jene. Thank you for joining us. We are starting this hour in Utah. A man is on trial in a case.

Prosecutors say began with a lie and ended with a father never making it home. Kevin Ellis admits he shot and killed his brother-in-law, Matthew Restelli, firing seven times, but claims it was self-defense.

Prosecutors tell a very different story, though.

They say that Ristelli was unarmed and that he was lured to the home under the belief that he was

simply picking up his children and taking them back to California. Instead, investigators say his

wife, Catherine, along with her brother and her mother, Tracy Grist, had already planned his murder.

Catherine pleaded guilty and spent a second day on the stand testifying against her brother.
