Today my guest is one of the most talented beautiful and

enigmatic stars of the present day, Kate Beckinsale. As hard as it is to believe the

stunning Oxford educated Brit is 43 years old and has already been on the scene for 25 years.

She first made her name in British Period Peace Productions adapted from Great Works.

Projects like Kenneth Branaw's film version of Much Adieu About Nothing and the TV mini-series version of Emma.

Before long she was in America starring in blockbusters like the action film Pearl Harbor,

the romcom's serendipity, and most famously five installments over the past 14 years of the

Underworld franchise, one of Hollywood's first anchored by a woman.

This year she returned to her roots, re-teaming with Witt Stelman, the quirky filmmaker with whom she previously collaborated 18 years ago on her first film in America, Last Days of Disco, this time on Love and Friendship, an adaptation of a little known Jane Austin Novella.

The film had its world premiere at Sundance back in January and Beckinsale's performance

as a widow constantly scheming for ways to attract rich husbands for herself and her grown daughter,

has been on Best Actress Shortless ever since.
