Kartik Hosanagar is the John C. Hower Professor of Technology and Digital Business and a Professor of Marketing at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Kartik’s research work focuses on the digital economy, in particular the impact of analytics and algorithms on consumers and society, Internet media, Internet marketing and e-commerce.Kartik has been recognized as one of the world’s top 40 business professors under 40. He is a ten-time recipient of MBA or Undergraduate teaching excellence awards at the Wharton School. His research has received several best paper awards. Kartik co-founded and developed the core IP for Yodle Inc, a venture-backed firm that was acquired by Web.com for $342M. Yodle was listed by Inc. Magazine among America’s fastest growing private companies. He is a cofounder of SmartyPal Inc. He has served on the advisory boards of Milo (acq. by eBay) and Monetate and is involved with many other startups as either an investor or board member. His past consulting and executive education clients include Google, American Express, Citi and others. Kartik was a co-host of the SiriusXM show The Digital Hour. 0:39.7	today is Kartik Hosnagar, and he is the professor at Wharton School, the University of Pennsylvania,

0:55.4	internet marketing and e-commerce. Now, while that maybe might not sound so exciting in the,
1:02.0	out the gates, he is also the author of a book called A Human's Guide to Machine Intelligence,
1:08.3	how algorithms are shaping our lives and how we can stay in
1:12.4	control. So basically, he's written a book all about artificial intelligence. And it's quite an
1:19.4	interesting book to say the least. And some of the things that Kartik has been able to do is just
1:27.2	incredible. He was actually recognized as one of the
1:29.7	world's top 40 business professors under 40, and he's received multiple teaching awards, including
1:36.7	the MBA and undergraduates who had excellence in teaching awards at the Wharton School, along with
1:42.4	co-founding and starting up a company called Yodel Inc,
1:46.6	which was a venture-back firm that has been listed among the top 50 fastest growing private
1:51.7	firms in the United States, which has actually been sold and acquired by a different company.
1:57.6	So he has supported companies like Google, Nokia, American Express, and so many others.
