I think the country is looking for a generational change.

You take a look at on both sides and some of the more exciting candidates that the Democrats

and Republicans are putting up are no longer baby boobers.

They're in their 30s. Both parties have a large. They're in their 30s.

Both parties have a large number of candidates in their 20s and 30s.

I think we're sort of, this is the 1958 election

and 1960s coming. Less than three weeks until the midterm elections. How is the electoral map shaping

up? As Mike Murphy told us a few weeks ago, the polls won't tell us much until mid-October. Well here we are and

the picture is becoming clearer. So let's digest these polls and other developments. Carl Rove joins

the conversation. Carl served as senior advisor to President

George W Bush and White House Deputy Chief of Staff. He was the architect of both of President

Bush's 2000 and 2004 campaigns and the 2002 midterm election strategy

for the Republicans. He's the author of two books, The Triumph of William McKinley

and also a book about his time in the Bush White House called

Courage and Consequence. He also writes a weekly column for the Wall Street

Journal that I highly recommend. Towards the end of our conversation today he has an

interesting take on what we're already learning in 2022 about the 2024

presidential primaries. Yep, just around the corner.

He talks about the likely candidates and the emerging political environment heading into that

national election.
