1:28.0 | Karen, I've given our listeners just a little overview. So take a minute. Tell us about you personally. We want to get to know you. Then give us an overview of all this great stuff you have going on. |
1:38.0 | Hey, John. Thank you so much for having me on the show. I've been listening to it for a while now. It's great to be on it. |
1:45.0 | I recently made a dance video of myself learning to dance in a year. It's pretty different from other dance videos you have seen because most of the time you see people when they're already good, but this was different because it started out when I was not good and slowly got better. |
2:06.0 | And I think that that's just something a lot of people can relate to is you always hear the success stories. You hear about entrepreneurs who are already successful dancers, seeing as factors who are already successful. |
2:17.0 | But you don't get to see when they first started out. And if we could see more of that, that would be a lot less intimidating. |
2:24.0 | Well, Karen, I have a lot to say to that because it's exactly why I launched entrepreneur on fire because I saw this huge chasm that existed out there in the interviews with the successful entrepreneur talking about why and how they were so successful. |
2:38.0 | And then the listener being like, okay, I get it, but like, I'm not there. Like, where's the gap that fills in between? And that's what we do with entrepreneur and fire. We talk about that day one, like you had with your dancing, which guys, I've seen this video. You need to check it out. Believe me, Karen is a horrible dancer, day one. |
2:57.0 | Thank you, John. |
2:59.0 | Say that, and it's not even me because you're so good now that it's just funny. But, but that's the chasm that I wanted to fill was taking the successful entrepreneurs and sharing their failures and then how they overcame them. |
3:13.0 | And then they're a hot moment and showing the whole journey. And that's what we're going to do with you today, Karen, on entrepreneur on fire. And one other thing that I really do want to touch base on is your choice of a niche, Karen, you niche down. |
3:27.0 | And say, you know what, I'm just going to do this thing that's going to talk to every single person in the world, you niche down into a very specific topic. And we're going to dive more into that at give it 100 dot com. |
3:39.0 | But before we do, I really want you to share your success quote with fire nation because that's how we get these interviews started, Karen. So take it away. |
3:48.0 | Okay, this quote is by teller of the magician duo pen and teller. He says sometimes magic is just someone spending more time on something than anyone else might reasonably expect. |
