especially if you're Karen Reed, because the headline screams, it is on. They've got their jury

and they've got their start time. And if you haven't yet

made plans for Tuesday, take the day off true crime fans because opening statements in her

retrial are going to be epic. Not just inside the courtroom, outside the courtroom too. If the

past is any prelude, hundreds of Karen Reed supporters

will be marching down to the courthouse and screaming their lungs out. They'll be wearing pink

and hoisting homemade signs, demanding justice for Karen Reid, which in their estimation is an all-out

exoneration.

They believe she is being railroaded by crooked cops who are trying to pin their dirty work on her,

meaning they think the cops want her to take the fall for the death of her boyfriend,

a police officer named John O'Keefe.

Karen Reid's theory has those officers killing her boyfriend at a late-night house party full of cops and staging a big cover-up for reasons I'm going to in just a minute. But the cops

and the Commonwealth, their theory is that she killed him with her SUV, that she was drunk and angry

and that she used her vehicle as a weapon

to mow him down and leave him to die in the snow outside that party. And now after years of

courtroom mayhem and headlines and protests and a full mistrial, the Karen Reed saga is

officially on track. And there is no sign that this case

has cooled down. If anything, the temperature is rising. Today we're going to break down where the case

stands as they get ready for court. What to expect as the retrial begins and the ammo that each side has as they walk into that courtroom.
