0:20.6	Kanye West's new album, Jesus is King. I am not competent to talk much about
0:28.0	Kanii. Patrick may know more about it than me. We both love this album and have listened to it. Two of my boys, four kids, two,
0:36.7	my oldest and my youngest are big Kanye fans and so I've listened to some of the songs over the years as I've driven them around town and we've had some really interesting conversations in the last couple of days about this album and Kanyay's life story and I've learned a lot from them and looked at some other resources.
0:55.3	But what we're mainly going to talk about today is at least in the first half of
0:59.6	our episode is how Christians are responding to this phenomena you might call it.
1:06.0	Right now in Times Square is a big lighted billboard with written on it
1:11.0	Jesus is King. That's the title of course of
1:14.2	Kanye's album, but how cool is that, that Jesus is King is sitting in the
1:18.3	cultural capital of the United States. So Patrick, what are your thoughts about how Christians are responding to this?
1:25.6	Yeah well let me start just by reading what you said. I am not a Kanye expert. I can say I have not
1:30.3	listened to all of his albums and I'm definitely very far away from being a rap or hip-hop expert and so we're not trying to talk about those specific things but again the cultural phenomenon that we're experiencing and I do think it's interesting when you see guys like James Corden, Jimmy Kimmel, interviewing
1:45.8	Kanya and trying to make sense of what he's describing happening in his life.
1:51.2	There's this funny moment in his interview with James Corden where James kind of says well how do you know how can you
1:56.2	be sure that you really experienced a change in your life and Conne asks him well do you
2:01.8	know the difference between being awake and sleeping?
2:04.6	And James is like, yeah, I do.
2:05.6	And he goes, well, that's exactly what's happened to me.
