My name is Jeff Fluck, and I'm along with my coworker, Jordan Bianchi.

We are motorsports writers here at The Athletic, and today we're here to talk about

NASCAR at Kansas, IndyCar at Texas, and Formula One in Portugal.

Lots of stuff to talk about, Jordan.

How are you doing today?

I'm good.

Lots to talk about really a jam-packed racing weekend.

We had IndyCar last night as well, truck series race.

So lots of discuss and lots of tire issues to discuss because that's what happened in a couple of races this weekend.

Yeah, I mean, it's kind of weird how this tire, just this stray tire, I guess off Tyler Redick's car

became this whole story today at Kansas. But I mean, it really did change the outcome of the race.

And I kind of went back and forth on it. So at first when, you know, so the tire rolls into the infield grass.

And we've seen before, certainly, that when that happens, they often let it cycle through.

But I don't know that they often let it cycle through to the point where it's 15 laps cycle

through.

Like it's more like, all right, we're in the middle of pit stops.

Everybody's coming in at the same time.

You know, they'll finish these three

laps and then they'll call the caution or something, right? But to let it go for 15 laps and

then call it. And then with like Chris Bushers team playing sort of a game of chicken with them

to say, oh, we know you're going to call it. We know you want to call the caution. And then they,
