Hey, everybody, welcome back to the Giants Insider podcast.

Today's guest is Justin Vili. He is one of the two hitting coaches for the Giants. Along with Donnie Eckers, they also have Dustin Lind on staff helping him. Three newcomers, all of them very young, very energetic, very bright, and really have interesting backgrounds. And I think Justin has one of the more interesting journeys of anybody

on this new coaching staff. He was in A ball last year. He was in the minor weeks mostly in helping out

across the Dodgers system. And the Giants called him in the offseason. And Gabe Cappler's known him for a while.

And, you know, made him an offer.

He couldn't believe and couldn't refuse.

And here he is in the big leagues, 29 years old as a hitting coach for the Giants.

So a really interesting journey.

Hey, Giants fans, Kelly Johnson here with our inside of Alex Pavlidge and new co-hitting coach of the San Francisco Giants, Justin Veeley, a Santa Clara product. Justin, you are clearly living the quarantine

life right there with the beard. Wow, what's going on there? Yeah, so initially, I mean,

the barbershops were closed here in Scottsdale, so I wasn't able to go and get, you know, my beard trimmed up. And then once it got kind of long, we would have some polls on these Zoom calls actually with the staff. And the staff kind of voted that I wasn't allowed to shave it until our

spring training is so you know I'm not I'm obviously gonna be in support of that

whatever they want so I'm not gonna shave until we have our our next spring training

which hopefully comes soon because this is not really ideal for me right now it's gotta be hot

it's gotta be hot yeah yeah's got to be hot. Yeah.

Yeah, you have to wear a mask too.
