Is there a character on the show who you feel a little closer to, a little more in love with than the others. Is there a

favorite child? Wow. Not favorite child to right. Jesus. Come on. Every family's got the

favorite child. I think Sam and Lionel are probably like the extroverted and introverted

extremes of my personality.

And Lionel specifically because he's gay and black and is sort of navigating all of that

is dealing with a lot of things that I very specifically dealt with.

You know, one of them is the assumption that black people, that black men in particular

won't accept me because I'm gay and having to get over that assumption and

realizing that that assumption sometimes is true, but also sometimes was blocking me from

connections, you know, even though it was sort of like a self-defensive thing, you know,

Lionel has to go through that realization. I had to go through that realization.
