eight against the Cincinnati Bengals. And there are takeaways from that game. They're not all

good takeaways. One of the lessons is that the defense is not fixed,

that the two performances that were good against Carolina and Denver may have been a mirage.

We also learned that balance is important for this offense and pass protection is absolutely

critical for Justin Fields. And that's where we will begin, because Justin Fields surprised pretty

much every analyst by going out and having a big game Sunday leading the Jets to 39 points and over

500 yards of offense at a point where he looked completely lost. And a point that I think cannot be

emphasized enough is that Justin Fields probably would have been benched for this game had Tyrod Taylor been healthy enough to play.

All the reports through the week were that the Jets were leaning towards Tyrod Taylor.

The question was whether he was healthy because he was dealing with a knee injury that limited him in practice.

Well, Taylor was not healthy enough
