show without the mailbag questions. Let's begin. Our first question, John, I keep hearing you talk

about Justin Fields and his potential to be this year's Sam Darnold, but I think you're missing

a key point. Darnold was around a great infrastructure in Minnesota. He had one of the best

receivers in the league, lots of quality skill players around him,

and one of the NFL's best offensive coaches.

Fields isn't going to have the same level of talent around him or the same level of coaching.

So is it unrealistic to expect Fields to be this year's Donald?

Well, it's a good question.

And what I would say is, I don't think the stats are going to be at the same level, even if Fields has success. When I say the Jets are

hoping Justin Fields has a Sam Darnold in Minnesota-type season, I mean the hope is that his level of play improves.

You know, Sam Darnold last year had a tremendous statistical season.

Darnold had a 100 plus passer rating in 13 of his 17 regular season games.

He finished 10th in the MVP voting.

I don't think that's going to happen this year with Justin Fields.
