Today we're talking about the issue of justice. Justice, we all have had experiences in our lives

where we feel like justice was not done, at least on a human level. In our passage today,

we actually have two verses from Proverbs chapter 18 that remind us and assure us that justice

matters to God. God does not have a blind eye when it comes to justice. He is very concerned

about the right things being done. So we're going to dive into that in just a moment.

I think that strikes close to all of us because we all have experienced either great examples of

justice or injustices in our lives. Let's read Proverbs 18, 5 and then we're going to skip down to

verse 17. Both of these discuss God's view on justice and understanding the reality of what's

really going on in this situation. Proverbs 18, 5 says, it is not good to be partial to the wicked

or to deprive the righteous of justice and that's pretty straightforward. It's not a good thing

for us to give lenience if we're in a place of position to actually do so, to give lenience to

wicked people or to those who might give a bribe or things like that. That's kind of the context
