This is Holy Family School of Faith.

So welcome to our Rosary meditation.

In this meditation, we're going to reflect on the further aspects of justice.

And just as a reminder, justice is the virtue whereby we give others what we owe them.

To live justly, we must understand two principles,

solidarity and subsidiarity.

And then we're going to focus also on three errors to be avoided. First, a radical

individualism and selfishness. We find this economically in laissez-faire capitalism. The second error is

collectivism otherwise known as socialism, communism, or a welfare state. And then finally, the error of irresponsibility.

So those are going to be the five points of our meditation this evening.

So let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Our first meditation and first decade

on the principle of subsidiarity.

Subsidiarity is the principle by which we take personal responsibility

and make a specific contribution to the common good.

Subsidiarity safeguards the good of the individual.
