Hey, fighting podcast.

As always, Cody Worship, Digital Media Reporter for LSU

Athletics coming to you from a slightly different audio setup tonight. It's late. The game has

0:26.9

ended. LSU has won 41 to 7, but I am having just the most amount of audio trouble you could

0:32.8

have, and it's only getting later. So instead of taking probably an hour that it would take to fix these audio issues, I'm just going to do the simplest thing and record on my phone. I apologize if the audio quality is not up to standard. It's simply the easiest solution. So that's what I'm going with right now. But I have good news and I have bad news. And I know that that's a segment that I'm supposed to do later in the show,

0:54.8

good news and bad news and I will.

1:11.7

But I have actual good news and bad news to start. And it's the same thing. The good news and the bad news is that this is going to be a shorter episode. Last week was over an hour. And that was because LSU lost and there's a lot to talk about and a lot to debate. The good news is that this week there's not a whole lot to talk about. LSU won in pretty uncontroversial fashion, 41-7 over Vanderbilt. And I'm certainly going to break down the game. But when you win in convincing fashion and you play as well as LSU did, not perfect and certainly some things that they still have to fix and correct and we'll talk

1:27.9

about those but when you win the game that lSU did the way they did against the opponent that they

1:32.6

did there's just not a whole lot to break down so i will i will get through this episode pretty quickly

1:37.8

and i do have quite a few voicemails actually that y'all sit in so i appreciate that keep those

1:42.7

coming i'll play those two those actually are the

1:44.8

the one bit of audio that i can import um so i'm going to play those clips a little bit later and answer

1:50.8

those questions before i do that let's start where we always start first things first

1:55.5

this game for lSU was just what the doctor ordered and i mean mean that in a number of ways. First, it was the

2:03.1

opponent that the doctor ordered. And that's not a knock on Vanderbilt, but it's just, it was the

2:08.1

right team for LSU to play at this time. When you're playing in a 10 game, SEC schedule,

2:13.3

and there really are no weeks off, you have to, and you're coming off of a loss the way that you lost to Mississippi State.

2:21.6

You just have to get this break in the schedule at this point so that you can figure out your identity.

2:27.6

And that's one of the biggest challenges with this team this year.

2:32.0

It's one thing to play a 10-game all-SCC schedule. It's another thing to have to do that and not know exactly who you are going into the season. And I think we saw from LSU today the perfect opportunity, and they took it, and that's a big step, but the perfect opportunity to work on themselves, figure out their identity, and credit to LSU. They took that opportunity.
