When I was 15, my best friend and I used to hang out at his house. It was an old house that his family renovated

There was always weird things happening in the house. I couldn't sleep there because I'd always feel wrong

One night we were alone in his house just hanging out in his basement.

My friend and I started throwing knives at an old empty computer box to see if they could pierce the metal.

We were sure his best custom knife could pierce the metal. We were sure his best custom knife could pierce the metal. He took his

knife and threw it at the box. We both watched as the knife hit the box, bounced back, and

land on the floor. We looked at each other, disappointed, and laughed a little. When he turned his head back to the knife, it wasn't there. We were both sure we saw it on the floor, but it vanished. We checked in bags nearby behind the box. We basically turned the room upside down, but we couldn't find it.

We assumed we imagined it on the ground and it slipped below the carpet or in a wall or something.

That same night, my friend swore he heard something scraping against his bedroom door.

We joked that a ghost had taken the knife and then we forgot all about it.

Five years later, my friend's family decided to renovate the basement. They tore up the

carpet and redid the walls, but he couldn't find the knife. We talked about it for hours and still couldn't

explain where the knife had been.

To this day he swears that he and his parents still hear something scraping against the

walls and doors at night. The Pond and the Statue.

I was about 17 when this happened.

I moved in with my father after living with my mom for most of my life.

Behind his house is a trail in between our house and the neighbor's house. It's pretty

unbeaten, but you can still find your way through it. At the end of the trail there's a very small pond. The first time

I walked back there I found it very charming until I turned my head to see a small porcelain sculpture

of a boy sitting on a log.
