shattered. This is the case against Susan Avalon, a woman accused of killing two of her ex-husbands,

just hours apart, across Florida.

What investigators say happened that day unfolds like a carefully choreographed sequence,

one that begins not with a gunshot, but with

stolen food. To understand December 17, 2025, you have to go back, back to years of bitter

custody battles, unpaid child support, court deadlines, and resentment that never cooled. Susan Avalon had been

married multiple times. At least two of those marriages ended badly, marked by disputes over children,

money, and control. Now court records show there was an ongoing custody and support conflict, there was

financial pressure, and a looming deadline that could result in her driver's license being suspended.

People close to Susan later told investigators that she seemed different in the days leading up to December 17th.

One person, her live-in boyfriend, would tell police she said something chilling the night before.

She told him she loved him, saying, in case something happens to me. At the time, he didn't know what to make of it.

The next day, everything would make sense. It's just before 3 p.m. in Bradenton, Florida, when a man answers his front door, waiting outside of someone he knows well, his ex-wife.

Moments earlier, surveillance cameras captured Susan Avalon inside a nearby Panera bread.

She didn't place an order. She didn't pay. Instead, investigators say she took someone else's

food from the pickup shelf.
