Hello everyone and welcome to Talk Nurdy. Today is Monday, September 11th,

23 and I'm the host of the show Kara Santa Maria. It's also a move out day for me. I am leaving Florida and never coming back.

I'm saying goodbye to this state, the state of injustice, because I have finished my doctoral

internship and I am able to kind of take the long trek home. I'm going to be

traveling quite a bit in the next

several weeks. So I'm pre-recording quite a few of these intros for the

episodes because I did not want to leave you all without content while I'm

away, but I'll be doing some road tripping around the US and also travel. without content while I'm away.

and have a chat with M. Chris Fabricant.

He is the Innocence Project's director

of strategic litigation.

He's also one of the nation's leading experts on forensic sciences and the criminal justice system.

You may have seen him in The Innocence Files, a documentary on Netflix.

You may have read some of his public commentary. You may not have even known that you read it because he's written for so many different outlets.

He used to work as a public defender and a clinical law professor and he has a brand new book, a very, very important one. It's called Junk Science and the American

Criminal Justice System. I know that this is right up our alley here on

talk nerdy so without any further ado here he is M. Chris Fabrica.
