and destinations from the Green List and the travel desk of the Independent. Today there are

revelations of a cabinet bust up over the freedom to travel this summer of battle that

the Transport Secretary, the travel industry and the holiday

maker lost. With hundreds of flights now being cancelled by airlines such as British Airways

and EasyJet, what are your rights? According to the law, not necessarily the airlines. And the

Channel Island of Guernsey has invented a fourth traffic light colour, the blue list.

Well, Thursday, you may recall, was the day that everything started going into reverse,

by which I mean that we were fully expecting that the number of so-called green list countries

from which you need not quarantine was going to increase, not decrease. I spent a lot of

last week speculating on what they might be, emphasising that it was just speculation, but thinking,

well, places like Malta should be good for the green list, a whole sprinkling of Greek islands,

maybe Ibitha Minorka and Mayorka might make it. And on top of that,

well, maybe some Caribbean islands, places like Finland, Slovakia and Albania. Anyway, that wasn't

to be, because instead things started going into reverse in a way that nobody had expected, except perhaps Matt

Hancock. So, big meeting on Thursday. It involved Grant Shaps, the Transport Secretary,

Rishi Sunak, the Chancellor of the Exchequer. Matt Hancock, who is not just Dominic Cummings' favourite

cabinet minister, but also the Health Secretary. There was also Michael Gove, the Cabinet
