Summary

Gene and guest cohost Tim Swartz present a UFO abduction update from researcher Kathleen Marden. She first became interested in UFOs in 1961, when her aunt and uncle, Betty and Barney Hill had a close encounter and subsequent abduction in New Hampshire’s White Mountains. She spent 15 years in painstaking investigation of the Hill abduction case and continues to seek the scientific analysis of the compelling evidence. Marden has worked on three comprehensive studies on nearly 5,000 experiencers, two of which she initiated and saw to the end, and has five professionally published books. Her latest book, “Forbidden Knowledge: A Personal Journey from Alien Abduction to Spiritual Transformation,” offers a deeper insight into Kathleen’s own life and works. Her essays have been published in several additional books and magazines. Over the years, Marden’s work has been acclaimed by her colleagues in the UFO field. She is the 2013 recipient of MUFON’s “Researcher of the Year” award and the 2021 recipient of the International UFO Congress “Lifetime Achievement Award.”

Contrary to what people say because of my background handling Apple products, I don't hate Microsoft.

0:40.3

Microsoft, I guess, hates us because quite often when we set up our Skype connection

0:46.3

with our guests, some people can't hear the conversation or back and forth.

0:52.3

So, for example, we had a great connection with our special

0:55.5

guest, Kathleen Martin, which is wonderful because she always has such interesting things to talk

about. But our special guest co-host, Tim Swartz, the audio briefly exited the room. What did you

1:08.7

do, Tim? Well, I don't know. When I answered your call,

1:14.6

all of a sudden, Skype just froze, froze up solid. So I had to manipulate my way around,

1:21.9

get out of it, and reconnect. And fortunately, it seems to be okay. For the most part, I've been fortunate over the years

1:29.5

that Skype has played fairly nicely with me. So, you know, the occasional hiccup, you know,

1:37.7

I can accept it. Now, the worst experience we have with Skype was when Jacques Valet was on the show

1:43.8

the last time with

Kurt Collins, where we could not reach Valet unless we called him on his line-line phone.

1:52.0

Now remember, Jacques Valet amongst all his pursuits and expertise is not just a well-known

UFO investigator and author.

2:05.7

He's also a computer whiz and one of the early architects of the internet.

2:08.5

But that didn't matter.

2:13.2

Skype had him flummoxed.

2:17.1

Skype was flummoxed by itself, but we worked out something.
