And so you can only imagine our excitement when we found out that Lebowski Fest, the kind of long running homage to everything Big Lebowski related is coming to Seattle.

So July 20th and 21st, it's going to be happening in Seattle and Will Russell is one of the founders of the festival and he's on the phone with us right now.

Hey, man, how's it going?

Great. Thanks for coming on tonight.

Hey, thanks for having me.

Okay. Can you just try what I would actually really like from you just to start this off is a kind of succinct kind of explanation for people.

Why this film has captured people's imaginations in the way it has and the reason is because when I'm out at a bar and I've maybe had a few Caucasians or ten Caucasians and I'm trying to explain to someone why Big Lebowski matters and why it's so cool.

I always feel like words fail.

What do you think it is about this movie that makes it so memorable and makes people go to things like Lebowski Fest?

Well, it's been my experience that if someone doesn't immediately hear Lebowski Fest and freak out and be like, I love that movie and market eight dude and start quoting lines, then it's really a vain attempt to try to explain to somebody who's not a fan.

It can be a very frustrating experience, so I've just kind of given up on that.
