We're on 98.5 on the FM dial simulcast as usual across New England and the country on CSN. Let's start with some NBA chatter from the finals last night. I know, Maz, that you were, I'm sure, heartened and just overall positive feelings about the Golden State Warriors Championship and Kevin Duran in particular. Oh, it's inspiring. That's what I meant, yes. That a team could overcome what the Warriors overcame to win that. I mean, it was just talk about it. A true American Norman Rockwell kind of story. Can I tell you something how I feel which is weird? And I'd say this is honest to God true. It's not just because I think what he did is weak, and I have like a thing for Kevin Durant. But what I'm about to say is I honestly feel this way. Do you know that I now think less of him as a player than I did before this year? I told you this at the beginning of the series. I told you this. I said it's worse for him if it's a blowout. I said it at the beginning of the series. I said if they steamrolled of this thing, it makes him look worse. It absolutely makes him look worse. All he did was jump on the wagon. That's all he did. Whoopty-do. He won a title. Terrific.

You weren't impressed with his play, though, in the actual series? Yes. Yeah, no, he played well. Yeah, he played well last night. I mean, he was great last night. He was the best player in the series. He was. Hands down. He's good. He was awesome. I never thought he wasn't good. But I don't know. honestly, he would be higher in my estimation

1:43.4

if he had stayed in Oklahoma State

1:44.8

in Oklahoma City and lost again.

But he had emptied the bucket and laid it on the line and carried that team as far as they could go. I would look at him and say, that guy, you know, he's just not in the right place, but that guy, I got a lot of respect for that guy. Then the thing that sent me over the edge was last night, sort of his pose at the podium with the trophy. Sort of like that, how do you like me now? Like, see? I felt it was more like, well, what did you expect? Because the whole thing, that was the most striking thing to me in that whole game, is that at the end, the celebration was kind of uneventful, which I thought was perfect because the whole thing felt preordained. Because it was. That's why there was no drama to it whatsoever. None. No drama. None. So look, there were a couple games in that series that were pretty good. Game three was pretty good. Game five was pretty good. Those generally came down to the last however many minutes. although Golden State pulled away at the end of this. At least they were close going into the fourth quarter. You know, the other one, and I'll even throw game four on the list because Golden State is such a threat. Even though they never get closer than I think what, 12 or 14 after basically the early second quarter in game four, you know, because they can make a run five,

2:51.6

12 point, fine 12 point game, you know, you could say they're playing their way back in and

2:54.7

it. But overall, please, the series was a runaway. It was a complete runaway. It was never

in doubt. And I'm sorry, I have a hard time having respect for Durant as a competitor,

3:06.9

not as a talent, as a competitor for what he did

in that series.

3:11.1

And with this team by joining them.

3:12.4

It's funny.

3:12.9

I think less of them.

3:13.8

I really do.

3:14.8

Like, I'm, it's not only that I'm not impressed.
