Where are you today?

I'm in Carmel, Indiana, where the

Pacers are taking on the Oklahoma City Thunder in game three of the NBA playoffs. I love that

you're pretending to care about politics for us when you've really only got one thing on your

mind today, right? Are they going to win? They are going to win. Yeah, I'm contractually obliged to

say that. Absolutely delighted to have you with this.

These are the three big stories driving the day. The first one, it's still going. The situation

in Los Angeles, still seeing protesters and federal agents, and indeed the military

facing off there. That story moving pretty quickly last night. We saw Gavin Newsom, the Governor

of California, make a fairly extraordinary eight-minute address to camera last night. And a curfew has been called in downtown Los Angeles as well to try and quell some of the scenes that we've seen over the last few days. Adam, we'll get into it all in a minute, but just tell me, did you watch all eight minutes of Gavin Newsom? I did watch all eight minutes.

And the line that stuck out to me is that he talked about the rule of Don rather than the

rule of law and tied it to the No King's protest that we'll see this Saturday.

So it was sort of an effective bracketing of that military parade.
