Welcome back to the Lantern Rouge Cycling Podcast with Benji Nice and probably one of our

most anticipated previews. Maybe the one I'm most excited about. Hopefully Benji and I can get

into plenty of disagreements. Team Jumbo, Visma, preview for 2021. You know the rules by now,

the way we structure this. We're going to go 2020 season review, transfers out and in. We're going

to also discuss two topics that we haven't on their own because people have asked us questions

about them in the YouTube comments. We've heard them, we've written them down how the Tom Dumela

leaving or taking a break, how that will affect this team and how that will affect on the road

and race selections, who they'll select for different races and also Dylan Groenevagan's program

because it is a very different program for a top tier sprinter. Then we will pick their squads

that we think they should take for the monuments and the grand tours and lastly we'll give our

hot takes and I guess our predictions for their over-undering wins as well as the much requested

superfan inclusion from Eric Guzman later on in the podcast for Tjv superfan hot takes. It was

very popular with the Trek Sega Frodo podcast but Benji, 2020, how did it go for Jumbo, Visma? I

think they were the best team in the world by a lot of metrics but would you say it was a

par year for the talent they had on the team or still an over-performance?

I think it was still an over-performance. A lot of the riders performed better than I expected.

Before the season started we had Wild Fanard who was going back from that injury he got in his

reference 2019 in a time trial. It was a heavy comeback, he went through some a lot of depths,

let's be real and he came back stronger than he ever was and he came back so good daddy ended up

winning, well Milano San Ramos, Trata Bianca and we know how that story went, the entire

the entire follow-up of that and they also ended up winning another monument further into the

season after the COVID. That was LBL with Roglic, we all know how that happened as well.
