And by 1977, Roman Polanski had already lived about five lives.

He survived the Holocaust in Poland as a kid, an event that led to both of his parents'

deaths.

He directed these huge, critical and commercial successful films like Rosemary's Baby

and Chinatown.

And his pregnant wife, Sharon Tate, had been murdered by Charles Manson's crazed gang.

And even so, the drama in Roman Polanski's life was only just getting started.

In 1977, he was charged with basically drugging and sodomizing a 13-year-old girl.

And that point in Roman Polanski's life is where Marina Zenevitch's really amazing

documentary, which is called Roman Polanski, wanted and desired, picks up the story.
