I had been living in New York and working there as an actor and director and choreographer for 25 years or so and I really felt I needed a change.

I imagined in my fantasy, I suppose, that when I came here, I would have a completely different life. Perhaps a construction worker or one of those guys that works on those high wire things that with a hard hat, you know, that sweeping sort of hat and with the chaps.

Hey there everybody. Hello and welcome to a Tuesday afternoon edition of TBTL. It's the show that's probably too beautiful to live.

I'm your host Luke Burbank, who is episode 603 in a collector's series, another installment of what we're calling TBTL Roughen It.

These shows coming to you from a remote mountain hideaway and I'm well I have mixed feelings about reporting that I am on day nine of my project to not shower the entire time that we're here at the remote mountain hideout.

I say mixed feelings because on one hand I feel liberated, I feel in touch with nature and my own personal aroma in a way that I never have before.

But on the other hand, I think it is starting to really get on the nerves of everyone else here in the cabin. I speak specifically of my daughter and really my girlfriend Vanessa, who has been dropping increasingly,

increasingly pointed hints. I don't know if you guys remember, but on the show for the last couple of days she's been telling me that I stink.

You would think that that's pretty pointed in and out of itself, but she did it with kind of a laugh in her voice.

A certain friendliness that made me think maybe she was just giving me a hard time, but then last night we were watching some TV and she was cold for some reason, which I find it hard to understand because it's like 90 degrees here.

She was cold and she nuzzled up against me and she said, you're so warm. It's like your cloud of stink just keeps you warm.

And that was hurtful and that was when I knew that I'd have to redouble my efforts to not shower because now I'm going to be doing it in the face of stern criticism from my family and loved ones, but I'm committed.

I want to, by the end of this trip, look like the live action embodiment of the cartoon character Pigpen. That is my goal and I'm getting pretty close.

We're having lots of fun out here as I've been sort of updating you at tbtl.net and even on the show.

I do feel a profound change coming over me. This owing to the fact that out here we only have basically network television to watch and red lobsters to eat at and I found myself incredibly fond of both activities.

In a way that is making me think that maybe I've, as Eugene Levy says, as Dr. Alan Pearl says in waiting for government, this is, this is scaring me because I may have wasted a lot of time because maybe all this city living and reading highfalutin magazines like vice was all a front was all a way to build a wall between me and my true self.

Who loves nothing more than a little America's got talent and when that's on commercial, the bachelor, that's what I was doing last night and enjoying it, of mightily.

I will say there's one, there's one area in which I am not really in touch with my newfound rural brethren out here in the inland northwest and by the way to all of you who are trying to triangulate our exact location.
