Nobody expected him at home to get anything out of it.

I think everybody understood that the symbolism was what mattered of the summit and the Russians

I spoke to have all been saying it is a great first step and they really believe that there

is going to be more steps after this.

That it doesn't end with Helsinki, it starts with Helsinki.

On Monday, US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin met in Helsinki

for their first one-on-one summit.

At the summit, the US President said that he trusted the Russian President's denial

of election interference over his own intelligence community.

In the United States, fewer followed on both sides of the aisle.

To break down what happened and what it means, I spoke today with Julia Yofi, correspondent

at GQ and longtime Russia Observer, an Ian Bremmer, President of the Eurasia Group.
