Well, now with Gideon, we're going to come upon new or rather more Exodus terminology

because Gideon is presented to us as a new Moses.

So we've already had a Red Sea crossing, now we're going to have a new Moses.

That's why the author of judges draws everybody's attention back to the Exodus because that's

the framework, the paradigm by which God delivers his people.

And just to follow up on what you're saying there, Sam, I think that in verse 8 of
