Nehemiah chapter 11, verse 2.

And the people blessed all the men who willingly offered to live in Jerusalem.

What a great phrase.

They willingly offered.

The whole picture here in Nehemiah's,

God's people had come back, but many had settled outside of Jerusalem, and they needed people to live inside Jerusalem. And there were unique challenges inside Jerusalem and reasons

why people had settled outside Jerusalem.

And here in verse 2 of Nehemi 11, the people blessed all the men and their families who willingly

offered to live in Jerusalem. And when I read this phrase, I just think I want that to be the posture of my heart.

And I want to encourage you with this phrase that it might be the posture of your heart,

that we would truly be willing to do whatever God calls us to do.

If I could just ask you that question today, are you willing to do

anything God calls you to do? To give anything he calls you to give, to go anywhere he calls you to go.

What if God were to tell you today to pack your bags and move to another part of the world. Some might say,

I don't know if I could do that on your own, maybe with your family, to go to another part of the world,

any part of the world that is, like anywhere, to do anything. Or maybe some of you are walking

through challenges where you are right now. And that sounds like a great idea. And the question is,

are you willing to stay where you are in the middle of the challenges that you are facing? The point is,

is the posture of your heart, God, I'll do whatever. I trust you with my life. And I just want to

encourage you, this is the posture of a follower of Jesus.

You and I have sacrificed the right to determine the direction of our lives. He's Lord. And if He's Lord,
