0:42.6	Well, today we're studying and journeying through the little book of Ezra, and what an amazing book it is. We've just concluded our overview of the books of Chronicles. Those are long
0:48.8	books. But Ezra is a very short book, a brief book, and it picks up exactly where Chronicles leaves off.
0:56.4	It is one of the post-exile books.
0:59.2	You know, I said to you that there are some double books in the Old Testament.
1:02.7	For example, First and Second Samuel, First and Second Kings, First and Second Chronicles.
1:08.6	Well, you may not know this, but originally the books of Ezra and Nehemiah were viewed as one book.
1:15.0	They were referred to by the Jews as First and Second Ezra. Now we call them the books of Ezra and Nehemiah.
1:22.5	It's interesting, Ezra and Nehemiah were both used by God. God often sets people in pairs.
1:27.5	You have Moses and Joshua.
1:29.2	You have David and Jonathan.
1:30.6	You have Paul and Timothy.
1:32.5	And it's interesting to see how God uses men in pairs
1:35.6	that complement one another.
1:37.0	Well, Ezra and Nehemiah do that very same thing.
1:40.0	Ezra was the religious leader.
1:42.2	Nehemiah was the political leader.
1:47.6	Ezra dealt with the internal issues.
1:52.2	Nehemiah dealt with the external issues and notice the divine order.
