| 1:02.1 | journeying through Chronicles and we've come now the Second Chronicles, which picks up where the |
| 1:06.8 | former book left off. Ezra is still writing and he's writing to those who are coming back out of |
| 1:12.4 | the Babylonian captivity. They've been exiled for 70 years. They've been away from their homes. They've |
| 1:18.0 | been away from everything that's familiar. Their temple is gone. Their throne is gone. And God repeats |
| 1:24.7 | so many things in chronicles that they knew, that they had heard, that were written |
| 1:29.5 | in other places, because he wants to remind them that he has not changed. He wants to remind |
| 1:36.7 | them that he is still on the throne, that he's still at work, and that his promises are still |
| 1:42.4 | true. Now, when you come to Second Chronicles, |
| 1:45.7 | we see the rest of the story. You'll remember that First Chronicles left off with David |
| 1:50.2 | reigning. Well, Second Chronicles picks up with chapters 1 through 9 with the reign of his son Solomon. |
| 1:55.9 | Chapter 10 then tells us about the rebellion of the ten tribes. You remember the division of the kingdom into Israel and Judah. |
| 2:03.2 | And then chapters 11 through the rest of the book, |
| 2:06.0 | at least through chapter 36 and verse 16, |
| 2:08.5 | and I'll come back to that thought in a moment, |
