Man's natural way of dealing with sin is to cover it up and hide it, while God's way of dealing

with it is confessing it and repenting of it. Even Abraham, God's friend, when he turned to

political expedience, he ended up not only lying, but covering up his lie.

You know, in Australia, the public is extremely skeptical of politicians, as my Australian

compatriots were testified to that.

We're getting that way, but it's like nothing you have experienced.

Trust me.

I used to take the bus from seminary to downtown, and I was in one of those rides, and I watched a woman arguing with the bus driver

about whether her son was old enough to pay the full fare. Well, after a while, the bus driver turned to the boy and he said,

How old are you, son? And the boy looked at his mother for approval, and he said, oh, I'm five

years old. And the bus driver finally said, okay, I'll let you ride this one, but I bet I know what he's going to be

when he grows up. And the mother said, what, what? He said, he's going to be a politician.

Now, I really don't like to knock politicians, to be quite honest, because I think most of them

are doing two jobs and the jobs of two people, Laurel and Hardy.

Someone said that Christopher Columbus would have met a great politician. Why? When would he left, he didn't know where he was going.

When he got there, he didn't know where he was. And then when he went back, he didn't know where he was going when he got there he didn't know where he

was and then when he went back he didn't know where he had been and he did it all on somebody

else's money well contrasting him with Abraham he knew where he was and he knew where he was going.

You remember in the last message we saw Abraham leaving Heron and going to Canaan as God's original command of him six years earlier.

And that six years where he spent in Heron with his dad, Tara, was simply a time of stagnation in his walk with God.

So, if you look with me to Genesis 12, verse 6, you see him passing through the land as far as the sight of Seckham and Mora.

The words Shechem and Mora means strength and instruction.
