I had an opportunity to listen to a speech that was given by a leader in the art community.

This speech was given in a local school during their Christian emphasis week.

The speaker is a recipient of numerous awards and prizes.

He is respected by our cultural elite.

In his speech, he not only sought to tear to shreds the essence of the Christian faith.

Indeed, he prided himself in his outright rejection of it.

All of that to an impressionable minds without any opportunity or equal opportunity for rebuttal.

After listening to that speech, my mind, eyes have wondered back after I surrendered my life to the Lord Jesus Christ.

I thought of a man, another man, that I had met. He was not powerful, hardly. He was not famous,

far from it. He was not rich or influential. In fact, he was a dry cleaner ironing my clothes

and my family's clothes. This man, after giving his life to the Lord, had a simple prayer.

Lord God, I long to read your word. You see, he was illiterate.

He was not educated.

He could not read or write.

And God supernaturally have answered that prayer.

And this simple man would open the Bible, and he would read it beautifully.

And the same time you hand him over the newspaper, and he could not make hit or tail, even of the big headlines.

As I contrasted the two men, the powerful and the famous, with the nobody and the illiterate, my mind's eyes soared forward to the day of judgment.
