I moved out to Boulder, Colorado with a bunch of my kind of idiot friends and I wound up with a job working for the onion, the satirical news weekly in Boulder, Colorado. So my first job literally was writing fake news you know but it was it was fun I kind of got

interested in politics I went to Northwestern got a journalism degree and got to work for a

semester as a Washington correspondent for a little paper in Indiana that couldn't afford a real one.

And my congressman got caught having an affair with his secretary and I sort of caught the political bug.
