Welcome to Searchlight. A survey through scripture with Pastor John Corson. It is our desire to bring you a

systematic study of the entire Bible chapter by chapter book by book.

In our studies so far in the book of Joshua, we have seen a picture being painted of the spirit-filled Christian life. The nation of Israel had come out of bondage

from Egypt, just like we were saved and came out from the bondage of the world in sin. And then

they crossed through the Red Sea which the apostle Paul says is a picture

for us of baptism. Next they crossed over the Jordan River into the promised land. This

pictures the empowering of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

There is a flow to the story just as there is a flow of what happens to us in our spirit-filled

Christian life.

So what happens next is very important to us,

and that is what we are seeing in our verse-by-verse study of Joshua Chapter 5.
