Welcome to Searchlight. A survey through scripture with Pastor John Corson. It is our desire to bring you a

systematic study of the entire Bible chapter by chapter book by book.

Here on searchlight we are looking at a very exciting portion of scripture. It is the beginning of the book of Joshua.

In this story, Joshua and the nation of Israel have finally crossed over the Jordan River into the promised land.

As Pastor John has taught us, the promised land is a picture of the spirit-filled

Christian life. Today we begin a verse-by-verse study of Joshua Chapter 5, where we see

Joshua doing an interesting thing with the people now that they are

finally into the land.

The book of Joshua, chapter 5 tonight, in our study last time, we saw the Israelites finally crossing over into the promised land.

the Promised Land is a picture, a type,

an illustration of the spirit-filled abundant life. The people of Israel were enslaved
