Derek Van Riper, Enoceris here with you on this episode.

0:17.5

We'll be joined by Cody Stavenhagen, the athletics Tigers beat rider. We're going to talk a lot

0:22.3

about this Tigers team. What has changed since last year? Could things be different for them

0:26.6

this October? And why were they so quiet at the trade deadline? We've got some baseball news

0:31.9

you should know to get to. Josh Hater going for imaging. Right as the Astros just got healthier

0:36.8

in the rotation with the return of Christian Javier, We got an update on Shane McClanahan, and we're going to dig into three hitters that we have not talked a lot about on the show this year, even though they're having very good and very interesting seasons along the way. 1:01.2

Eena, let's start with the baseball news. You should know Josh Hater did not enter the game on

1:05.7

Monday for a save opportunity against the Red Sox because of shoulder soreness.

1:10.2

He has been sent for

1:10.9

imaging and the result of those tests is not known at the time of this recording. So we're in the

1:17.1

day-to-day for now bucket as it goes with Hater. Interestingly though, he last pitched Friday

1:23.0

and threw 36 pitches and in his absence on Monday, Bennett Sousa got the save, his fourth of the season.

1:30.6

But the reason was, Brian Abraeu had pitched two of the last three games, and one of those was one and two-thirds against the Yankees on Sunday.

1:39.6

So it sounds like, based on comments that Joe Espada made, if Josh Hayter is unavailable for any

1:45.8

prolonged stretch, Brian Abraeu is pretty clearly the next in line to close out games for

1:51.5

the Astros.

1:52.5

Yeah, and I would assume that maybe Brian King is the setup man in front of him.

1:59.3

I really like Brian Abrae, and I think that he can handle this, and I think he can be a closer.

2:04.9

So you don't lose as much in the first seat, but I think everybody moving up a seat, you do start to lose something.
