So I was probably about eight years old.

This was in the late 90s.

And my sister was having a birthday party that weekend.

And so my mom took us to party city uh to find

decorations and stuff and uh i didn't know any better or i should have known better as it were and uh

i pocketed one of those uh little partyers, blowing to, makes a noise.

Yeah.

And so I took that with me, and I thought I was real sneaky.

And next day, I'm sitting on the living room couch, was watching TV, and I'm like, I'm blowing

it, not enough to make noise just

enough to have it do the thing and uh my mom's coming downstairs to start her morning routine

and she sees it she looks at me and she's like where'd you get that and uh I'm caught in and I

don't even have an excuse at that point and uh so we went back to Party City, and she made me talk to the manager. And I'm staying in there, and my mom looks at the manager, looks at me, and says, do you have something you tell her? And I'm looking at her, like, pus and boots out of Shrek. Like, I got the puppy dog eyes on. Like, I'm kind of panting. And she's like, what do you got? And I handed it to her. And I was like, I'm so sorry. I'm all quivering and shaking and stuff. And she's like, I might need to call the police department about this. Oh, yeah. And I was like, you what? And we got all wrapped up. And I got grounded, and to this day, and that was seared into my brain. I can't go to jail when I made it result, right? Pro move out of mom, though. Yep. There's no chance she was going to call a cops. But that's the way to do it. I mean, look, it's unspoken with adults. You're going to call the cops, right?

Absolutely. How long did it take for all of this to get resolved? From the moment she says she's going to call the cops, it's like five, ten more minutes? Yeah, it was pretty quick. Now, who, quote, unquote, prevented her from calling the police? Was it, did your mom come to your aid and say, No, no, no, he learned a lesson

Or did the manager, quote, unquote, prevented her from calling the police? Was it, did your mom come to your aid and say, no, no, no, he learned a lesson, or did the manager, quote, unquote, have a change of heart?
