0:00.0	A few years ago, I had a relatively unknown author named Jordan Peterson on the podcast.
0:14.6	To be honest, before I read his first book, 12 Rules for Life and Antidote for Chaos, I
0:19.7	didn't really know who he was.
0:20.7	Now I knew a lot of people did know who he was, but I didn't.
0:24.1	And I read the book and I thought it was really good and really good advice.
0:28.2	And the chapters are almost overly simplistic, but then when you read the book, you see
0:31.6	why they're overly simplistic.
0:33.6	But there's some very good advice titles.
0:36.6	Like do not let your children do anything that makes you dislike them or make friends
0:41.8	with people who want the best for you.
0:43.1	Now these are almost cliches.
0:44.6	They're so obvious.
0:45.6	But then he tells really deep stories and reasons and historical reasons, psychological

0:53.4	And I guess at the time he was controversial because there was stuff going on with Canada
0:59.9	where you were required to use certain words to describe transgender.
1:04.0	And his whole point from the beginning was he did not want the government to tell them
1:08.4	what words to use.
1:10.6	He had nothing to do with sexual politics or anything like that.
1:15.6	As far as I know, and to this day, from my conversations with him and people around him,
1:20.0	and you see this from his writings.
1:21.2	He's just, he's very scared about anything that looks like the beginnings of fascism.
