Hey everybody, welcome back to Cold Case Murder Mysteries. I'm your host Ryan Krause, and today we're following up on the first installment in the Jean-Beney-Ramese series in which we examined her mother, Patsy's 911 call on the morning of December 26, 1996.

While that was the event that ignited the mystery and controversy to come, we'll need to step back into the past to recall the days prior that led to the drama.

Strangely enough, Patsy's call for emergency services was actually the second 911 call

placed from the home in a three-day span. And even though a great deal of mystery surrounds that

communication, the prior call made on December 23rd, leaves us with even more questions about what truly occurred. So, let's begin on December 23rd leaves us with even more questions about what truly occurred. So, let's begin on

December 23, 1996, in our analysis. But first, I quickly wanted to make a correction from the

first episode. I misspoke when I said Burke was on the verge of being nine years old. He was

actually about a month away

from turning 10. Anyhow, the Ramses, as a wealthy and influential couple within the Boulder community,

both hosted and attended a number of events leading up to the Christmas holiday. As is widely known,

Jean Bonnet, at age six, had already been a participant and

even a winner in a number of beauty pageants and talent shows. Due to this, she had been invited

to be featured in a parade in downtown Boulder on December 6, 1996, called Lights of December.

Two weeks later, on the 20th, John Ramsey's company Access Graphics had their holiday party. And then, on December 22nd, Jean Bonnet

participated in what would become her last appearance in a show when she sang a solo and danced

at the Southwest Plaza Mall in

Littleton, which, interestingly enough, was a location frequented by two teens who would later

rise to infamy, Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, the Columbine High School Shooters.

The next day, December 23rd, is when the Ramses were set to host a Christmas

party at their home for family and friends. And while there were certainly assertions by a number

of people that they noticed suspicious men at other events Jean-Beney attended during the month,

this is essentially where the mystery starts.
