Summary

It's the return of Feel-Good Habits, the show where I quiz people about their hard-earned self-help strategies and we're reinvigorating this series with a bang! Jonathan van Ness, star of Queer Eye, host of the podcast Pretty Curious, author, stand-up comic and gymnast, is here to share how he has navigated a really rough year. What with business challenges and a high-profile 'hit piece' in a huge American magazine, Jonathan has had to dig deep to stay sane and not to lose himself in a tornado of negativity.

It's an uplifting conversation and I hope you love it.

Jonathan's haircare line JNV Hair is available now at Space NK.

Jonathan Van Ness is on today's podcast. That's right, Jonathan Van Ness from Queer I from Netflix from the

0:16.1

podcast pretty curious. Jonathan is a ray of absolute sunshine and I'm going to be completely honest with you here

0:24.9

listeners. This podcast conversation this time I spent with Jonathan made me

0:31.6

remember why I started and fell in love with

0:35.2

podcasting in the first place.

0:38.6

Okay, so this conversation with Jonathan Van Ness,

0:41.0

I absolutely loved it for a few reasons. First of which is that I

0:46.8

decided to, with this episode, bring back the feel-good habits franchise. If you

0:52.4

are a long time listening, you'll know.

0:54.0

Feel Good Habits was something that I started back in lockdowns when we were all a little bit kind of

1:00.3

what's going on and perhaps suddenly had to figure out how to entertain ourselves

1:06.8

without going outside and interacting with other human beings. It was a lot wasn't

1:11.2

it? So feel-good habits was a weekly episode that I did where people

1:15.8

shared the five feel good habits that kept them going when things were tough. And when things

1:21.3

went back to normal in inverted commas, I retired said franchise because it felt like it had maybe run its course.

1:26.6

But recently, I just thought, you know what, I actually think we still need that kind of thing.

1:32.1

But I'm loath to bring back kind of

1:35.5

things from the archive because I think well if they've had their time they've had

1:38.8

their time I like like flares I think you get one shot at flares. Maybe I'm wrong. You know, there's

1:45.6

fashion trends that you only get one pop-at because the next time it comes around you might

1:49.2

be, it just might not be right for you or any of those things anyway. felt the same about this but I decided to bring it back and then the conversation

1:56.8

or the time with Jonathan came up and I thought well I know I've only got 25 minutes of Jonathan because the time on the schedule was very very tight. I mean Jonathan's schedule was packed while they were here.
