My name is Joe the Moon and I'm four years old. I live in Toronto and I want a story about a magical plant, a soldier,

and a pirate.

Hello and welcome to MakeDup.

I'm your host, Amanda.

Today's Makeup is part three of Jonah Moon, the magical gardener.

Although you can listen to this story on its own, you might enjoy it more if you start with parts one and two.

Once upon a time, a long time ago, there was a big boy named Jonah Moon. One day, with the help of his friend Bo, he realized that some dandelions work better than other dandelions for making wishes. Jonah and Bo carefully tested flowers from a wild patch of dandelions to see which

were the best for making wishes, and they saved the seeds from those dandelions to grow their own

magical garden bed of only the most delicious magical dandelions. But just as they were preparing to harvest the seeds from their

magical dandelions to replant the next year, they discovered that they were not the only ones

using their magical dandelions. A pirate named Fluth McTide had been using the dandelions to find

treasure and fame, and a toy soldier had been using them to make himself real so that he could stand watch over his boy as he slept each night.

Fluff McTide and the toy soldier were arguing over who should have the magical dandelions late one night when Jonah Moon and Bo interrupted them.

Ar, said the pirate Fluff-Bectide,

What be ye young swabs doing up at this hour?

Tis past midnight and well past the hour that we lads should turn in.

Get yourselves to your hammocks. We're on magic business

eye, and tis not fit for such young swabs to be hearing such magical things that we're

discussing. Off with ye, for ye ears be tainted. Bo rubbed his ears to see if they were tainted,

and Jonah Moon stood looking puzzled and wondering
