Welcome to Through the Bible, where we'll hear an important message from a man who was raised from the dead.

I'm Steve Schwetz, holding the door of the Bible bus open just for you as we set off for the Old Testament book of Jonah Chapter 3.

Now, to prepare our study, here's a special introduction from our teacher, Dr. J. Vernon McGee.

And we are today coming to that great chapter where this man came into the city of

Nineveh, and he had a message, and he was a message.

He was a sign.

He was a billboard to that great city, a man who had come back from the dead.

Therefore, I think I ought to take a moment today to say this to you in preparation for what

is to follow.

The great truth of the book of Jonah for Christians is not whether God can keep a man alive or not in a fish.

If God be God, he can keep him alive.

That's not the question.

The question is, did he keep this man alive three days and three nights?

And if he did, then actually that was not that great

a miracle because other men have had the same experience as that but no man ever had the experience of

Jonah Jonah died inside of the fish God raised him from the dead. And in that, he was a real sign to the Ninevites, a man back from the dead. And that's our great message today. I think the greater truth is that Jonah died in the fish,

God raised him from the dead, and Jonah was a sign,

a sign for this generation in which we live today.

Actually, the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Now, you know that in the book of Jonah, we have this story of the man and his message in the

city of Nineveh.
