Now, Dr. McGee designed this study to alternate between the Old and New Testaments, weaving

God's entire story together to help us understand Scripture in an integrated way.

That's so important.

So, as you might have guessed, we're in the Old Testament book of

Jonah. And soon, we're going to make it to the New Testament book of 1 John. Now, whether you're

committed to studying the Bible, or maybe you're just a little curious, you're in the right place now.

Our confidence is not in ourselves or Dr. McGee. Our confidence is in the Word of God. God puts confidence in his word, too. Do you know that?

He promises that it will accomplish the exact purpose that he intends for it in each of our lives,

individually. You could say that he does custom work. Greg, isn't that true? Oh, it is. And you and I

have traveled to different places in the world and met people that have been deeply changed through the Word of God.

And there's two things I think we always see.

One is how much we're all alike.

We have the same problems, the same struggles, the same pains, no matter what language we speak or what culture we're from.

But the second thing is that although there's this commonality, each of us is on a unique

journey, a path, and we're part of the body of Christ, we have a different calling. And so, yes,
