studios in the heart of Los Angeles. And to capture the heart of Los Angeles, we have probably

the most renowned, respected, esteemed photographer in

all of L.A., Mr. John Suu. Thank you so much for being here, John. I really appreciate that.

Well, thank you for all that accolade in one sentence. Hey, that's my specialty, man. He has been filming, he has been photographing Los Angeles for nearly 50 years.

41 of those with the Dodgers.

And prior to that, at USC, where he attended and graduated from, and he is also a graduate

of Marshall High School.

We are talking to a Los Angeles native who also happens to be Los Angeles royalty.

John's grandfather, Peter Suhu, was one of the founders of New Chinatown.

So very important landmark, very important history in Los Angeles.

We are going to get into that as well.

John, thank you so much for being here.

Well, thank you for having me.

And now, one thing had to make clear that on the other podcasts and whatever I've gone on,

my family has been very on me for not recognizing that my grandfather was the founder of Los Angeles, China.

He wasn't co-founder.

The other person was like the other person on the plaque that was stolen in Chinatown, my grandfather is known for being the founder of Chinatown, the New Chinatown, LA. You know, it's funny. I did the episode. I don't know if you ever saw one of my early episodes, frankly, of L.A. to Minute was on New Chinatown. Thank you, Caitlin Bryant, by the way.

That's what I just went saw.

So, Caitlin was extremely helpful in kind of facilitating that episode, the information.

And I think she might actually told me that Peter was the sole founder.
