Here are your Washington headlines of the day.

Number one, the wins and losses for both the speaker and MTTG on the motion to vacate. Number two, new threats on the FAA bill. And number three, President Biden

and the Congressional Hispanic Caucus are set to meet. All right, Jake, let's get into it.

We were all over the decision by Representative Marjorie Taylor Green to oust

speaker, or try to oust rather, Speaker Mike Johnson, which failed miserably on Wednesday. Just

11 Republicans voted to consider ditching Johnson, a measly 5% of the House Republican Conference.

But this institution, of course, is one where we look at power, who's trying to obtain it,

who has it, who's losing it. It isn't always measured just at the surface level.

Power is often a perception that becomes a reality.

During this episode, both Green and Johnson had wins and both suffered some embarrassing

losses that are instructive to think about where they stand now in the Republican

conference.
