Hey, my friends, it's Matt. This is the 10 minute Bible Hour podcast, and I have a question for you that I'd like you to do some pop culture math right now.

0:26.2

How many times over the years in animation or in a comic book or in a movie or a TV show, have you seen a dramatization of a portrayal of Batman's origin story?

0:41.4

I don't think I'm spoiling anything here because it's like the most well-known thing in

0:45.2

all of pop culture, but Batman became Batman because he's a son of a rich couple in

0:52.8

Gotham City and they go into an alley and there's some crimesters in

0:57.7

there and the crimesters were like, give me all your stuff. And they, they shoot. There's a,

1:02.9

Bruce Wayne loses his parents. It's very sad. It's a very, I mean, I've seen this scene a lot and

1:07.2

it's very moving to me still. It tragic and out of that you know the character

1:12.0

of batman clean up this town is made but how many times have you seen that story because i'm thinking

1:19.8

maybe i've seen it five different times seven different times that's a story that is told from a lot of different angles. It's been told

1:28.9

by a lot of different directors. And it's just very important. It's very foundational for the story.

1:34.1

So anybody who handles Batman is going to handle the origin story of Batman. Likewise,

1:41.3

there's some stuff in the Bible that you get on repeat. When you read the Bible a lot,

1:45.3

it kind of runs together. It can be hard to keep straight, you know, which details are in

1:50.6

this account of a given scene that is repeated and which details are in this other one over

1:56.7

here. And it can be kind of a fun exercise when you've been around the Bible for a while to be

2:00.4

like, okay, well, this author who includes that scene, he's writing to these people and trying to make

2:06.2

this point. Ah, so I bet he would include these details. And, you know, it's, it's fun that we get

2:12.4

multiple different portrayals, multiple different points of view, angles on some of these really crucial stories in

2:19.8

the Bible. I think of Paul's conversion on the road to Damascus. We get the literal Bible telling

2:27.8

of that account from Luke in Acts, but then we get Paul alluding to or fully recounting that a few more times. We get the

2:37.0

feeding of the 5,000 from a bunch of different angles in the Gospels. And another one that we see
