I am Father Chris Ailar here at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy,

and we welcome you to Explain in the Faith, our Saturday series,

where we like to take you back to seminary to teach you our faith

that maybe you have forgotten or never learned.

We do the research for you so you don't have to.

And today, our topic is a special one.

We're going to be talking about John the Baptist,

some great things that maybe you didn't know,

some very interesting stuff that can help us in our spiritual life.

It's just not history, it's actually spiritual.

And we're grateful that you could be with us so let us begin with a prayer

in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit amen heavenly father we ask you send

the holy spirit down upon us to open our minds and hearts to know your faith so we can our faith so we can love our minds and hearts, to know your faith, so we can, our faith, so we can love our faith.

And through the intercession of St. John the Baptist, let us decrease so God may increase.

And we ask all this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
