Hello everyone, welcome back to SoftwarePredio SoftwarePredio on Time on Target.

I am your host this afternoon, Steve Baustry, joining us, we have a couple of very special guests

with us today. We have John Palmfret and we have Fred Hart. And these guys were, well, John

wrote a book that's getting ready to come out later on this month. I believe it's October 26th,

but we'll confirm that in a minute. And it's called From Warsaw with Love. Polish Spies, the CIA,

and the forging of an unlikely alliance. This book, we were able to get our hands on an advanced

copy. And when it comes out, I highly recommend everyone invest in this. This is really good.

It was a page turner. I actually had to read it a couple of times and make sure I was believing

what I was reading there because it was really good. But before we get into all that, we want to

welcome our guests to the podcast, John. Fred, thanks for taking the time with us this afternoon.

Yes, and Fred and I have a mutual friend who introduced us to Braden. And we could probably talk

for days on. Yeah, we probably could. We'll try to keep those for.

Yes, Stu and I were around the same 18 down in Panama way back. And about the time you guys

were in Kuwait. But John, first off, how did you come about this story and what made you decide

to write about this? First, Steve, thanks so much for having me. And it's great to see Fred again.

So I was based in Eastern Europe for the Washington Post in the early 90s. And basically,

most of my duty was hanging out in Sarajevo, trying not to get hit by a sniper.

Because Bosnia was the hottest story and the destruction of ex Yugoslavia was the hottest story.

But the post still had its bureau based in Warsaw, basically because, you know, back in the day,
